I am excited I found this forum I/my son has a 1998 Tiburon FX 5 speed 2.0 engine. I am willing to put some time and money in it to get it restored as I have a feeling it is a pretty good car.

First off we lost 3rd and 4th gear on the tranny, I think the altenator is overcharging the battery and I can't get it to start anymore because the ETACM blew up. I think the alarm control module is preventing us from starting. Is there anyway to bypass this or will i need to purchase another one $75 at the salvage yard. pretty expensive for just a speculation. If anyone can shed some light on this I appreciate it, bypass or taking the alarm out all together. I am a DIYer if I have good instructions.

Thanks
Patchezs

Welcome to the site, where did you find us?

Also, please be more specific to your location, TONS of us are from the USA, what state? It avoids lots of questions later.

Welcome man! Glad to hear you're interested in working on your RD1. First off, postpics.gif and second, definitely be more specific on your location as it's likely there is someone close by you that can help you with the car. Later Man!
