Default Baltimore meet!

Hi, I am new here. I just bought a Tibby 2003 V6 GT. I really love the car. I have read many forums and went through a lot of information. I take it that most think the I4 is the best, but I am very happy with the power it has, so far.

Here is my question. The car was used, 27,000 when I got it. The previous owner had done some different mods nothing to much but now I am trying to figure out some things. On the left side of the steering wheel there is the dash light dimmer and two dummy plugs. The previous owner had taken all of the dummy plugs and painted them Bright Orange. I started taking them out to tone them down a bit. I pulled out the one next to the dimmer and there was something plugged into the back of the dummy switch. I have no idea what it is. Is there any easy way to find out.

The car has leather seats and I was thinking it would be great if they were heated for winter. So I got to investigating and found Factory wiring attached to the bottom of the seats and some going up the back of the seat. I wouldn't know why there would be wiring attached to the seat or up the back, unless they are sensors or something. Could it have heated seats? I looked in the fuse box and there is a fuse in the spot of s/heater.

Just looking for some feed back.
Any info would be helpful.

Thanks
Matt

well, this site was made for 97-01 tibs, but you can stick around if you want.

try disconnecting whatever harness is in that dummy switch to see what happens. maybe you do actually have heated seats.

Sorry I didn't realize this was for 97-01 tibs.

I did disconnect the harness from the dummy switch but of course it didn't make any difference because its a dummy switch. Tracing the wires would be a nightmare. I was just hoping that someone else had a factory switch in that location that might be able to tell me what theirs did.

hm... not sure if 03's come with heated seats or not. Do you see a switch anywhere that could trigger heated seats?

Get to know your friendly neighborhood dealer. I'd take it to him and ask him to look at the different things you have questions about. The Service Manager might be the best guy to talk to. Dealers can be jerks, so if you get a dealer who you hate dealing with, find another. I have 2 within 15 miles of my house, but I hate them, so I take my car 30 miles away to have it worked on (tow trucks hate picking me up because they have to take me so far).

By the way, where are you located? We might be able to find someone on the forum close to you who knows a good dealership, or who might be able to help you with your car.
Check out http://www.HyundaiPerformance.com and post under the GK section. Also, try http://www.newtiburon.com as others have mentioned, it's specifically for 2003/2004 Tiburons.

hello,
the heated seats come with the different options packages, but for the most part...only the leather seated 03's come with heated seats. you can look at some of the newtiburon.com forums or hyundaiperformance for more info on the 2k3 and 2k4 tibs.
i hope that this helps.
