Greetings Most Of You Know Who I Am
I figured since it has a possibility to get very ugly if this continues to escalate I'd register here... Yes I am one of the rednecks with a Mullet from anti-rice... Ok so no mullet but still... I didn't come here to start trouble... I just cam over to interject a few things and try and cool some of the bad blood... I figure if I do it on our boards your initial approach will just bring some serious flaming... So I came to your turf where maybe you would be a little less defensive....

To be fair, our guys weren't given much chance to not be defensive. smile.gif Although I will say it was bad form to come to your turf and stir up trouble, but whatever.
Anyways, welcome. smile.gif

i have no problem with people who own big engine domestics, i just have a problem with people in general who hear "hyundai" and automatically shit "riceburner" or "pos" out of their massively small intellect. it takes more than a wing to make a fwd car rice, and mad_john's ridiculous tib more than makes up for the wing with what it has in go.
refrain from doing that and you're cool in my book. cool.gif

I'll give you that both sides went way to hot headed way to fast, hence my coming here to try and let cooler heads prevail... I don't think either board really wants to degenerate into mindless word wars...

It wasn't just the wing, it was the rather narrow powerband which put the car in the spy photos section... The numbers were impressive, however the 1500 rpm in which they are made is really to narrow to be a road/autocross car, and as a drag car you'd sacrifice to much shifting to stay in that narrow a powerband... It seems to sacrifice drivibility for dyno numbers... Again this is all a matter of personal taste... As far as crap and Hyundai, its a korean car... they have as bad a rep as 80's domestics, and most of it is baseless... So you won't be getting any of that from here... I've seen 11 second hyundai's first hand... they can be dangerous when done right...

Thank you hopefully this doesn't blow up in my face...

Its alright, coming from someone who's been around domestics, especially muscle cars, most of my life (worked on a 69 Nova with a 427, 1978 25th Silver Anniversary Corvette that I own) , I can see the objection to Mad John's narrow powerband. However thats whats sacrificed with making 4 cylinders fast, we just don't have the low end torque and horsepower that V8s make.
Some members of the import crowd automatically hate on V8s, some in the V8 crowd automatically hate on 4 cylinder imports. I've been fighting the domestic = crap mentality here for a while, because calling an LS1 or any other proven domestic motor crap is just retarded.

Welcome to the site, how did you find us?
wink1.gif
My dad is a die hard Muscle car guy, just finished rebuilding a El Camino that I love to drive.
We are a pretty friendly group here, and just about everyone is welcome here. Only problem I had with what I saw is folks talking shit about things they knew nothing about. Mad John's car was said to have a ricey wing. I agree. They said that he should take off the "horrible bodykit". It has no bodykit. That's the stock front bumper and side skirts over in Korea, and they look very nice.
Rice is in the eyes of the beholder, but knowing Mad John and his ANTI RICE stance, living in the LAND OF RICE (Korea), this whole thing made me mad.
The guy avoids most of the ricier things you see on a lot of the cars out there. He's got one mission. Mountain Racing. He's good at it, and the car shows it.
Please, feel free to stay.

Well, wouldn't you be a bit agressive if you won the Car of The Year award and someone was talking that kind of mad mess about your car? I mean it's one thing if you know something ABOUT the car, but seriously, who there does?
Since when is a 2600 pound car a HEAVY car anyways?
