Default ECU

Hi All,

I am new to this but I need your help.

I have a Hyundai Coupe 1.8 petrol Manual T reg (1998) and have had a number of problems including cutting out on the motorway....

It has been tested for faults, wiring checked etc and was advised that the ECU may be the cause.

So, I have removed the ECU and it comes up with a model number 39140-23630 39150-23600.

Is there anyone one out there who can advise me were I can get this either repaired or buy one from?

thank you in advance.

Rajan

Any 1.8 ECU should work, however...since you're in a different country...not sure how different the ECU's are programmed there, versus the ones here in the states.

Some of our foreign members may be able to answer this better. But welcome.gif to the site and let us know if you have any other questions. smile.gif

You may be lucky enough to be able to use foreign ECU's, but that's a gamble. I know a lot of foreign ECU's are not compatible with US market ECU's but I don't know about compatibility in other markets.

You should be able to use any ECU from a 1997-2000 Coupe or 1996-2000 Elantra that's from your market. If you have auto recyclers that's probably your best bet. It'll work best if you get the ECU from another 1.8l Coupe or Elantra, but a 2.0l ECU should also work. I would avoid the ECU from a 1.6l if possible.

to avoid headaches i would just get a matching 1.8 ecu. but 187sks probably has your best bet, an auto recycler will have the best prices i'd think.
