beta1 vs beta2

whats the difference between beta1 engine and beta2 engines?

I believe the Beta 1 is 1997-2001 and the Beta 2 is 03-04
Other than that, I don't know the difference

The beta 1 runs on a 16 Bit system for the ECU and wiring, the Beta 2 is 32 bit.

The valve/sparkplug covers are different.

Beta 2's now have VVT.

That's really about it.
