hey, i was just wondering if anybody knows anything about variable valve timing heads for the beta engine? I saw that the new tuscon comes with a 2.0L I-4 with variable valve timing and i was if it was the same engine and if it was possible to swithch the heads and get the variable valve timing for the tibby?

possible - yes

worth the few grand for like 4 hp - no

vvt doesnt give you hp it jus retards timing in for emmisions reasons and get you a smoother powerband

It's not VVT.

It's CVVT. CONSTANT Variable Valve Timing.

It wouldn't be worth the thousands to do the swap. You'd have to swap your ecu and a LOT more.

Beta 1 = 2.0 MAF 96-01

Beta 2 = 2.0 MAP 03-04

Beta 2.5 (What I call it) = 2.0 MAF CVVT 2004

It wouldn't even be half worth the hassle.
