hello everyone, my name is tyler and i reside in stewartstown PA. ha, i can bet you've never heard of it... i'm 19 years old and unlike most of you i do not yet have a tiburon 02.gif although i have very strong intentions of eventually purchasing a manual 2001 when the opportunity is to present itself. even though i am not currently an owner of this car i still do possess a relatively strong knowledge base revolving around it due to my extensive interest and research. i must say this seems to be the best board i've come across yet that is strictly dedicated to focusing solely on the rd tiburon (hence the url address..) and i am happy to become a member of the community!

Welcome. There are quite a few members here who live in PA. We do look forward to your help, and are just as willing to help you out.
Keep an eye on he 4sale section of these forums. You'll see 01's for sale in there sometimes. You may even find a great deal on one with some mods already done, if thats what ur lookin for. If you do pick one up, do you have plans for it at all?
And you've definatly come across the best forums for these cars, hands down.

By AEM front mount, i hope your not referring to that filter you have on the end of your MAF, thats just a bit of pipe and a filter, and if you mean you have since put on a AEM CAI thats different, thats a cold air intake that draws air from the fender.

"front mount" usually refers to a front mount intercooler, which you dont have. What you do have in the pic is more of a "short ram" intake btw, but i digress...

To the topic starter, welcome, choose wisely and inspect thoroughly when you buy one. Don't assume since the dealer wants a lot for it that it must be mechanically solid and don't assume the opposite, draw your own conclusion and if you cant then bring somebody who is competent mechanically.

For example i bought my tib in early 2004 for 9k, 20k on the motor and was in pristine condition, never had any problems with it mechanically.

Swifttiburon, my gf, bought hers in late 2004 (almost a year later) for 11+k with something like 35k on the motor, turns out it was nearly a lemon with constant problems that shouldn't have gone bad, so be careful.

Welcome! I'm about damn ready to sell my '01.....too many problems having to go wrong with it since the trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I need a truck for my business, but hell, i'll keep the Tib, I suppose...My Tiburon is like a friend I can beat around all day 'til it's been through hell and back....but i'm kidding, i'm not that type of guy. I try to keep her as healthy and clean as possible. Anywho, welcome to RDTiburon!
