Did any of the first gen tibs come with an factory alarm/keyless entry? The reason I ask is I was thinking of putting in an alarm system, but don't know if it is possible, with the way the power locks work. I just don't know. Anyone put in an aftermarket alarm?

I don't know if any of our cars came w/ an alarm or keyless, but I have an alarm and power locks on drivers side only. It works but it seems to me the door sticks out a little more after the power locks .

 

My tib has an alarm, remote entry, elec start.. all works. I have the clifford alarm sys installed

That would be the one offered from hyundai? Do you think any aftermarket one will work?

 

No early first gens came with power locks. On later 1stgens it was an option.

If you currently do not have power locks, you will need to purchase and install power locks. Theres a DIY in the DIY section. Very good write up.

After you get power locks you can then buy yourself an aftermarket alarm system.

 

ive got an auto page just have yet to install it yet. Ganna try to get to it this weekend if i can get an actuator in time.

I soo wish that was true, it'd save me a lotta money getting an aftermarket alarm installed.

Yes you can install aftermarket alarm system.

You can install actuator on drivers door to do power locks controlled by alarm.

I have aftermarket alarm - no problem with it.
