Default Wiring a system?

I just recently bought two 12"s, an amp, and soon i'm buying a capacitor + faceplate. Should I fork out $170 and get it professionally installed or should I do it myself? Can anyone link some sites that help you wire it up? and which wires will I need and where should I buy them ? Thanks confused.gif confused.gif confused.gif

Nice walk through. What wires will I be needing? I have a box, with 2 12"s , an amp, but I don't have any wires..

Would this work for the amp http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5760798153&rd=1

and what type of wires should I look for to get the 12"S hooked to the amp?

ill probabley visit my local sound store and get them to set me up right

It's pretty simple to do it yourself. Just take your time and make sure you did it right. Not worth the extra money for a shop to hook it up IMO.

I would use a 4awg wire for your power and grounds. And at least 12awg wire for your subs.

Alright thanks, You think I'll get much better of a deal buying amp/sub wires on ebay than going to bestbuy and buying them? Because I really don't know what kind of wires I need, or what pieces actually need wires.. Ive never worked on car audio before.

0awg wire is a little overkill. Best bet go to your local audio store and they will be able to hook you up with wires. You'll end up paying pretty close to that kit on ebay anyways. I think, haven't bought wire for a while now. confused.gif

4 Guage. That should be enough for your system and they are below 20$ each.

Thanks for the links, BlackTibby said 4g is good for power/grounds, and 12 for subs?

I don't get what that ebay link above is, is that the subs, power, or ground? Or all 3? confused.gif confused.gif confused.gif
