Does anybody use those windshield shades in the summer? Do they really work or is it all hype? My new job has an open parking lot with no trees for shade, so this summer Im sure it will get pretty hot in my car. I was thinking about getting one of those things you put on your dash that goes the width of the windshield to shade the car but wanted to see if they really worked.

 

They work as far as they go. The aluminum reflects most of the heat straight back out . . . but then you have the rear and side windows to deal with.
