BlackTibs - I have the same problem with my a/c and air recycle LEDs - I assume it is because the LEDs are of a different value to the originals and so when the voltage drops for the dimming it gets exaggerated.

You don't use the autometer covers with new LEDs, you use them with the stock, smaller lights. The new autometer covers are bigger than the stock ones you are replacing, but they will work.

Well ive just done my drivers side switches and it looks hell of a lot better but now ive noticed a slight bit of the light coming through where it shouldnt due to the fact that the black is wearing a bit thin in a couple of places.
Time to get a couple of new swich covers i think.

And ive now just finished the recirculating air and air con looks a hell of a lot brighter. How the hell did you guys remove your dashes for painting etc. I can just get in there to remove switches etc but for total removal things like the temp control line has no slack on it and i can see how the hell you remove them.

get under the steering wheel. Look to your right, and disconnect the end with the wire hoop around the little white plastic cone. Then unscrew the little metal plate and that should give you some room to unplug. Remove the stuff in red.

heres what you're removing

Thanks for the info BlackTIbs ill try that in the morning when there is a bit more light.

As for the covers ive read in a few places that you can paint the stock bulbs with acrylic paint and it works fine. Does anyone know the Wattage of the little two pronge bulbs that are behind the dash as autometer advertises two 3.8 and 4.9. So i was thinking if i get a slightly higher Watt bulb and use acrylic paint it should look fine. Im trying this as autometer dont have orange bulb covers.
