So on Thursday we drove to Checkers to snag something yummy to eat, and as usual I like going through the left drive-through because there is never a line. But after paying and all that good stuff we pulled away and the window on that passenger side would not roll up, it just made a nasty grinding sound. I ripped the door paneling apart following tiburonmoo’s DIY to find that the metal cabling had snagged and chewed the plastic regulator gear (the one that the motor spins directly) to pieces. x_X I took the entire regulator assembly out but had issues with the window bolts; the problem being the actual window bushings themselves. The two metallic pieces that the mounting bolts go through came undone on two out of the three bolts. I didn’t realize this until I had the entire window out (see images)

The one on the left is only finger tight.

Apparently Methuselah dropped by to hand model for me.

The front and back seem to have specialized patterns so I assume that there is a tool I need to put these bushings back on. I went to a couple of auto parts stores and no one had any idea what I needed. I even went to the dealership and the service personnel had no idea… as comforting as that was. For the time being I had to jury-rig it back together to keep the rain out, and its actually worked well. But I need to now if there is a tool I can buy that is designed strictly for this bracket/bushing. My new regulator should be in Monday and I want to ensure that the install is done correctly.

For the time being I used these tools:

The install was solid, but being paranoid I'm snot sure if i trust it as a long term fix.
Any input you have is appreciated. Thanx
