Can someone tell me what the speaker sizes are for the 2000 Tiburon...
I want to replace the factory speakers, but I don't know what sizes to get.
What's the size of the speakers in the front, and how about the back...
Someone please let me know...
Thank you.

go to www.crutchfield.com.....pick out the model and the year and stuff of your car and they will give you a listing of everythng that fits in your car.
Their are 2 inch tweeters in the dash, 6 1/2 in the doors and 6x9's in the side back panels. Their is however enough room in the doors to put 8 inch subs I put a set in of JL 8w0's in looks cool and sounds great just make sure you get a set that are free air compatable.

The door speakers are 6.5+ They are more like 6.75's.
There is a special name for the size but I can't remember what it is...

aye, tis true. I bought a pari of speaks a few days after I bought the car and they were the wrong size..too small. I then mail ordered some Infinity 6.5's. They fit better were still a little too small. It's like like foreign size or someting. I had to use some crazy metal shaping to form a bracket to overcome the larger size of the speaker hole. I have Infinity's all around and two 12's in thte trunk. Sounds great, I believe the door speaks are model i625's or something like that.

Trust me they are 6.5 I do this for a living but you have to gat a speaker that has a wide mounting lip or you will only be able to put two screws in to mount it. You just have to do some shopping just for a table to judge by I have had polk audio, memphis pro audio, and Infinity Kappa and they all worked fine but make sure what ever you pick it has a wide lip.

When you get the speaker make sure it is an oversized 6 1/2 like Random said. Crutchfield refers to it as a 6 1/2 S. There are many people who make them, they are just referred to in different ways. The rear will be a 6x9. I'm not sure of the tweeters in the dash though.

I just found out the hard way, they ARE NOT 6.5. Matter of fact according to Circuit Citys speaker reference, they are 6 3/4. Just to keep the thread alive.Trust me they are 6.5 I do this for a living but you have to gat a speaker that has a wide mounting lip or you will only be able to put two screws in to mount it.
