The RD1 is up to '99 and the gauges are slightly different than the RD2 '00-'01. If you see gauges on Ebay that say they fit the '99 to '01, they won't so you better stay away because you won't know which ones you are actually getting. If you buy from a reputable seller they should have the years identified properly and you will be safe getting the ones for your year.

k, so how about the needles and the interior portions?
I just did LED heater mod, changed lights in the back of the cluster, and needle color. I broke a needle.
if i get a 99 cluster, will i be able to do Tibby01's glow needle mod to it and then swap the clear portion behind the needle?

the clear portions behind the needles are VERY similiar. some will hit the shell of the cluster in a couple spots, but its definately nothing major and can be fixed easily with a hot knife or dremel.
needles and all the electrical guts(cept for some color changes) are the same, as far as i can tell. ive had a rd1 cluster in my rd2 for a good year now.
