What Else Is Possible?

just remember, there is a thing as too much. replacing all the stock lights to led, and maybe adding a couple subtle ones here and there, but dont put anymore than that.
LEDS IN EVERY POSSIBLE LOCATION!
You should have so many LEDs in your car that it glows like a radioactive bumblebee.
Like those three ricer cars in the pixar movie Cars. laugh.gif
Here is an idea.. BMW currently puts in LED "mood lights" generally a small red led above each seat that stays on as long as the lights are on. Not enough to distract, but bright enough to make it easier to see things in your lap, on the floor, or on the empty seat next to you.
Also, try a new mirror. I had a BMW Z4 Electrochromatic mirror that self darkened.. not only was it a great upgrade, but it was a different shape as well

ewww on the rubber shift boots.. I know some people think they are hot.. but I had too many cheap cars in the past that had them.. including a 1988 Hyundai Excel.. no thanks, I would keep the leather
j3romy...
if you like the diamond plate floor mats but want them in black you can easily have the powdercoated. if you don't know where to get powdercoating done you can always go to teh powdercoating association website and they will tell you where they have shops that are affiliated with the organization. you can also do that with anodizing. I get stuff powdercoated all the time cause i have a guy that is 15 miles from me. I found him through word of mouth but he is on the website.

Thanks for the comments guys, keep them coming!
Here’s my response to the items mentioned so far.
Diamond plate floor mats: not a huge fan of them, I really like the flat black look of the carpet. The diamond plate would stand out as a “BLING” against the rest, but it’s still a possibility.
Short shifter: I already have the Rside Advanced shifter; it just looks really high in that pic. I’ve modified it a good bit so it’s about an inch lower, and the boot is all the way up and slightly inside the knob (it’s partly caved out inside, so the boot fits up in there). DTN, I have no idea why you’d make it so complex, I just used a zip tie inside the boot wink1.gif I’m planning on modifying it a little to get it a hair shorter, and hopefully do something to be able to use the stock leather shift knob. The Rside one is a little tall, and since it’s metal it’s hot in the summer and super cold in the winter.
Shift boot: I was planning on getting a RedZ shift boot, but production seemed to stop for awhile… I really like my leather one though, it matches quite well. Rubber = puke.gif
Steering wheel: if I did it, I would get one like what Socks has, nothing OEM looking.
Painted accents: it would only be in a few small places, similar to what RedZ has done, or like the picture below. Just a touch, I don’t want to do the whole dash or anything crazy. I’ve thought about doing the dash in a gloss black, but it would reflect a lot more making it harder to drive and photograph. Still considering that one though…
Seats: I’ll probably upgrade once I wear out my leather stockers, but that may be awhile. I’d probably go for Megan or Recaro or a similar knockoff in either leather or black/grey or black/dark blue.
Push button starter: I’ve really wanted to do this, and will do my best to keep a clean look. It’s also going to be in conjunction with a hidden kill switch.
Heated seats: bah, I live in the south, no need for them unless they make cooled seats…
Switch panel: I already have 3 (soon to be 6) switches mounted inside my armrest console, so I don’t need any more than that. I’ve thought about doing something with that cubby, but I’m not sure what yet. I can’t even store anything in there as it always falls out whenever I accelerate.
LEDs in speakers: I already have them in the rear speakers and the front doesn’t seem to have enough room to fit the bulb though… Will keep trying.
Misc electronics IE: ?? Explain that one mang
GPS/backup cam: thought about this, but I would need to get a monitor for it… If I do get one, I’ll try something with it.
Radar detector: I don’t speed. Er, I shouldn’t lie either… laugh.gif
I’d really like to see what you have planned for the EL on the roof! I’ll probably soon replace the dome light with the LED version of it.
LEDs around shifter: I really like the look, but I think it would be a bit too bright. LEDs aren’t pretty to look at, just the light from them is. I need more pics before doing something like that. And that might be over the border of “too much”.
Great ideas, post more, even if they start going a little extreme!

push button starter to me would be annoying, just two things you have to do instead of one to start your car. not to mention it looks ricey to me. less so if you dont use those big gay red push button switches, but still ricey nonetheless.
i dont know. you say you want a hidden kill switch, and push button starter...why not install a simple remote start alarm with a low amount of features? starting your car from 50ft away is way cooler than pushing a button while in it. wink1.gif
also on the glossy black dash. i can definitely see it messing with your picture taking, but it really doesnt affect driving one bit. as long as the inside of the windshield is kept semi-clean, you wont see a thing.
