Well, today i decided to work on designing my box for my 12w6, Done.

but i also have 2 amps to mount, they WILL NOT go under the seats or on the back of the rear seats, and i want to keep my spare tire well accessible, and the holes for the tails accessible as well.

Here are the measurments i took earlier today :

Space to work w/ (overall) :
36.75" L x 12" D x 13.5" H

Interior measurements for Box (3/4" MDF, ideal Vol = 1.25CF Sealed) :
Area of Trapezoid : 1/2(a+B) x H (x L for volume ???? Correct me if this is wrong)
1/2(8"+10.5") x 12" (x 18.75")
.5(1.708) x 1 (x 1.5625) = 1.3344CF internal volume - .0850 CF (driver displacement) = 1.2494CF (close enough)
/Converted to Feet/

Exterior Measurements :
13.5" H x 12" D (max) x 20.25" Length

SO, that leaves me with :
16.5" L x 12" D x 13.5" high or roughly 1.55CF in which to mount two amps, a cap, all my wiring, and four crossovers (need to be accessible) for my jl coax's.

Amp measurements :
1.) 15.25" L x 10.25" D x 2.25" H
2.) 14.125" L x 10.25" D x 2" H

Suggestions please.

I've got prob 5-6 weeks before i plan to actually put it in, to finalize everything (and have an alarm installed) and get all the wiring and cap.
So no rush, but i'd like to get this design done soon, just to be done w/ it.

Thanks guys

do what i did....Mount the amps onto a board that fits over the spare tire well......however leave enough wiring to be able to lift the board and amps out of the way so u can access the spare tire....if you have room.....you should i have 2 amps mounted that way

Pics avaiable.... http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/454434

I also may have some more on my computer i will have to check

well... while I am not big on serious ICE in a car... I would pull the interior out of the trunk and look around at all the areas you cannot usually see. There is a surprising amount of room hidden beneath the carpeting on the shock towers and such...

Mad, thanks for the suggestion, but in our cars there really isn't, i just pulled all of that out to put dynamat down, there isn't much space underneath that stuff in tibs, in other cars yeah, but not ours.

these are very rough but you'll get the idea

[_]// or [_]/

Personally i'd like to go w/ the one on the left, would make wiring simpler, but the one on the right would give better weight distribution.

I hate trade-offs.

I'd chime in on this, but it's too difficult to explain custom stuff.
