I used to have a whine too, but I bought a ground-loop suppressor (basically what Kicker said) which goes between the rca's for the amp and where they plug into the stereo, I guess they will cost about $20 over there.

try some better grounding on your stereo chassis and your amp
dont use a supressor if you can avoid it

also check your battery is in good condition.

the only way you can tell if your ground is good is if you take a volt meter to it....it it doesnt read the same amount of voltage that the power supply thats where your wine is coming from....check the voltage!

Long, I have a competition SQ setup in my 1997 tibby and you should have no need for a supressor.
Just make sure all your grounds(headunit/amps/caps/everything) are to bare metal and as short as possible.
If your remote turn-on wire is feeding more than one thing make sure it is fed through a relay.
Try to avoid using any of the existing car wiring for power, run your 0 gauge to a distribution block and use that to feed everything in the system.
Seperate speaker wires/RCA's/Power cable from each other - run one down the middle and others down each side of the car.

Hope that helps you.
wink
Barry.

barry thanks.
i have my 0ga running down the middle into a fused block.
then two 4ga running down the sides. one into a fused block breaking off to for 8ga.
and the other going into a reg block and im only using one 8ga out of that.

i have my three amps, compressor, ps2, screen, pressure switch, etc all running from the blocks.

my remote turn on wire is used for all three amps and i havent installed a relay. i'll do it this weekend. the deck ground and the ground for all the amps are on bare metal. could it be the deck itself?
