Trunk Parts Arriving One By One..
Metal glaze is really runny bondo that cures in about 5 minutes.
The container it comes in is like an accordion and you squeeze it out and mix it with hardener (usually blue) at which point you squeegee it over the surface of the fibreglass and let it cure, 3-4 layers then hit it with a sander.
It comes out glass smooth.
This is the same stuff used by all good car/hotrod makers to completely skim the enture body, Ferrari also do it.
What takes the practice is being able to work *REALLY* quickly, you literally get about a minute to get it off the mixinmg plate onto where it has to go before it turns to rock.
My ford taurus had a badly rust damaged roof when I got it (pock marks and needle like holes) and no matter how much I sanded on it I couldnt get it smooth, so I just reskimmed the entire roof with metal glaze and 2 years later it still looks awesome (shame the trans took a shit last week, I kinda felt bad for my father in law because he loves that car 02.gif )
Here, this is a metal glazed completed roof before primer smile.gif
Its really nice and smooth.

When i made my fiberglass I just used body-filler, then i painted to prevent chipping and carpeted. If i wanted to make it smoother, i'd have used some glazing putty. I never heard of metal glaze though.
This is it here.. Same exact stuff I used.
Only problem it it's not cheap.

I should look into that for when i fiberglass my actuator arm for my trunk TV for no reason whatsoever other then having a TV in my trunk.

sometimes pointless can be very rewarding.
I learnt that since my bum pimple of an ex wife left me, IE - she was really irritating.
$50 on a set of clear tails and the b**** went on about it for frikkin months.
Sod it, my tib is my waste of time and money now. no matter how pointless it never answers back or pisses me off.
bit like my cats really.
btw that glaze? its really odd. as I said before it hardens quicker than a willy with extra viagra and goes all warm to the touch within a couple of minutes lmao.gif
I love double entendres.
See a british expression.
