Default Too little airspace?

So I'm trying to match a box for a 12" JBL that I recently purchased. I have a sealed 12 inch box laying around with an airspace of 0.90 cubic feet. The sub requires 1.00 cubic feet. Will the box be too small? Thanks!

"requires" is a strong word when it comes to car audio. What exact model of woofer is it? Have you measured the internal volume of the box?

You can always use a little poly fill to "mimic" increasing cubic space. That's what I've done to gain the last .1-.2 cubic feet.

^^This, and also don't forget to subtract the volume of the sub basket inside the box. It takes up quite a bit of space depending on the sub design. Most people overlook this.

Thats a minimal difference that you wont really hear much of a change. Throw some poly in the box, and call it a day.

Well, it depends on how accurate he wants to be. Should be small, probably less then .15 cu.ft.
