TomTom or Garmin
Im in the market to buy a portable GPS unit and I wanted to know if anybody here has one.
1. Do you have a TomTom or Garmin?
2. Does it do the job?
3. Does it ever lose signal?
I'm not sure which one to get and I'm gonna go to Best Buy this week to check them out. So if anybody has any feedback or criticism of their GPS's, let me know. Thanks.

I'm happy with our TomTom.
I hated our Magellan from day one.
I have used a few Garmins and found them acceptable also. If I was buying again I would still get a TomTom.

1. had both - all same diff if the model is similarly priced.
2. yes. all systems I used navigated similarly. It largely depends on the maps you use and whether they are up to date. That TMC and TMC+ business works sometimes, but not really well on the routes I drive.
3. all system loose signal in tunnels
Otherwise no diff at all
