Default Thinking about getting rid of my powered 12

Right now, I have a 12" JBL powered sub in my trunk because I thought maybe I would want the extra space in there. But I realized I haven't really used the trunk at all since owning the car. So I'm thinking about maybe putting in two 10's in a box that's made specifically for Gen Coupe trunks. I obviously would need an amp, the box and the subs. Maybe a cap too. I'm open to suggestions on brands so let me know what you guys are bumping with now-a-days. I know you can never go wrong with Kicker, JL, and other major brands. Thanks!

When I was thinking about throwing something a little extra in the trunk I was going to get a Fi 10" or a Sundown 10" with 1,000W or so amp to power it.

Small enough you wouldn't worry about lost space, but loud enough to surprise the hell out of a few people.

excellent choices^^

RE audio is a good choice as well, especially if you can find an older SE model sub. mmmm hawt. whatever you choose look up box specs before you buy em. It makes a world of difference.

kicker makes decent amps but TBH i do not like their subs. yeah they get low low but the sound quality just isnt there

Thanks guys. I'm not trying to win any sound off's. Just want something that sounds good. The JBL is pretty good for what it is and have been happy with it. I checked out RE Audio's website and I'm thinking a pair of the SCX V2's in 10" will be perfectly fine. Looked around a little and they're going for about $150. So $300 for a pair of 10's is not a bad price at all.

This is essentially the look I'll have once I buy the box:

Not sure if I'll mount the amp in the spare tire well, or just behind the box between it and the seats. The only issue with that though is it could get too hot since there isn't a lot of air flow there. Got some thinking to do for sure.

nice thing about re audio is they dont really require that big of a box. the SE's i posted wanted somethin like .6 cubic feet each for a 10.

re audio makes good sh*t mang.

NINJA EDIT

buy from amazon and you get free shipping..which is worth it on a 20# item

Man I couldn't do that Visionz, I like folding down my seats too much.

Actually now that I think about it, do Genesis rear seats fold down?

Not too many Genesis owners here in Fort Wayne, I've only ever been in one once
