Thin Subwoofers???
I've seen thin subwoofers mentioned before somewhere else but haven't heard anything about them. Anybody have any idea where to find them/who makes them? What about the quality of them? Are they just as good as their full sized counterparts?

ME (Mobile Entertainment) had a review of those a couple of months ago, they said they were "Alright", nothing special other than the reduced install depth.
Flat subs generally don't play as loud, becuase they dont have as much surface area to move air with, when compared to a cone (Square/round/or whatever shape).
Of course there are always exceptions, PPI used to have some flat subs, and one of my freinds had a pair and they did sound good, But they also had a typical subwoofers magnet structure. Unlike the ones that blu_ posted.

It's true that cone surface area has alot to do with how much air the sub will move. But, don't forget the linear Xmax.If the sub's cone surface area is small, but the Xmax is high, it'll still put out pretty damn good.
Pioneer has a new low profile sub that is pretty cool. It was an innovations design and engineering award honouree at the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show. laugh.gif
