Default sub to amp wiring

i have 14 gauge wiring from my subs to my amp... will i notice any difference at all if i used bigger wiring? if so what's an optimal gauge to use?

If the wires are getting hot enough to melt and short out, that will kill your amp. Otherwise, practically speaking, you won't notice for most sane listening levels. If you can hear yourself think while the music is on, you're fine.



So...how much power are you running back there? A 100W amp and it's already overkill. A 3000W setup running loud with no protection or fuses in the amp and you may be asking for a fire.
