The 6.5s should fit, but they may be a tad small. Easy to mount them even if they are with backstrap or the screw brackets that should have come with them. You have to remove the door panel, not the grill. Plenty of discussions here on how to do that.

Once you pull your double DIN deck, you will either need a single DIN fascia, or an install kit (such as one by Metra). A new fascia would look nicer. There is also a bracket that the Hyundai deck rests on, you can move that up higher to support your single DIN unit.

The rear grills pop off, try using a table knife.

i need to know how to remove my stock head unit which is a combo tape/cd player

take off shift knob
pull up on the shift plate to take that off
pull out on center console (near ashtray) to get to the stereo.

the stereo itself is only held in w/ 4 screws

real easy

Like I said, just use backstrap or screw brackets in the proper size and they will install securely.

You could make an adapter ring, but that's overkill IMO for such a small gap.

6.5's will fit fine in the front, you just have to bend the mount a bit for the screws to hit.
