Has any of your guys have this problem ? I notice that when it is hot, the wheel is squeaking by turning it a few degres right and left. The sound is exactely located on the top of the driving tree underneat the plastic box. I ask my mechanic and it seems to be something related to the wheel tree knob, the area that control the release of the directional turning lights or something like that.

I want to grease up that area by removing the plastic casing under the wheel, how do you remove this thing ? I don't want to create a mess by spraying between the gap. Do i have to remove the airbag to access the knob so i can grease up good with some teflon grease ?

thank you in advance.

that's the problem. there's some screws under the steering coloumn cover. then you separate the top and bottom halves. Grease it up and you'll be fine. I had the same problem and it worked for me.

not the dash, it's the steering coloumn cover. it's really simple. Just remove 4 philips screws from the bottom and the top half and the bottom half separate easily.

You don't need any special training for this. just put some grease on the U joint where the steering wheel tilts. It's as simple as it gets and hyundai will charge you $30 for .5 hr work. it takes 20 minutes at most.

same exact problem here. makes my car sound cheaper than it really is. yeah it just means the cover is loose. the cover is nothing but a piece of plastic. i agree just lube the steering column up and tighten all the screws. your car probably has higher mileage like mine does.
