Ok i recently installed an aftermarket steering wheel and i have a fellow RD'er looking to buy my steering wheel and airbag.

He wants to know if my RD2 steering wheel will fit onto the splines of his RD1 steering column, i assume so because when you search for a steering wheel on car-part for a RD2 itll bring up RD1 wheels; but i dont want to make an ass out of the both of us by assuming and 6 pages into searchin i found nothing so i figured id ask.

 

yes i think. i dont think the air bags themselves are interchangeable but the steering wheels should be. The bags are different as well as the wheels, but it should fit just fine. id wait for at least one mroe response here though

 

Well see thats what got us into this sticky situation, the airbags.

I sold him my airbag and i didnt know he had an RD1, he got the airbag and it didnt fit. So he figured hed just get my wheel too and i said thats fine but i told him id make sure it was compatible so he doesnt waste money.

Im 98% sure itll fit, i just want people to tell me it will lol.

 

Check part #'s on the 2 different steering columns.

I know that the hub adapters we sell are once part # for RD1/RD2, so it should be the same.

 

Im just bringing the thead back up to say that the wheel did fit.

So the two wheels do have the same splines.

Nveil2r now has a RD2 wheel and airbag swapped RD1, mad swappage yo.



Now he doesnt have them gay buttons \/

Not to hijack the thread, but I always wanted to know if a GK steering wheel could fit an RD1 or RD2. I've seen them on ebay a few times, pretty cheap as well. Anyone try this or know if its possible??? Would the airbags work if it fit?
