It's illegal to change your steeringwheel.

Airbag mang. Federal law.

A lot of large companies, thought I'm half brain dead at the moment to remember most of the names, though I know that Autotechnica does make some for a resonable price, as well as SAAS racing though I can't remember their website.

This site sells all sorts of steering wheels as well as hubs, MOMO and Sparco

If I remember the Autotechnica website later, I'll post it for you.

Was there ever a definite answer on whether a 2003+ Tiburon steering wheel would fit an RD1/2? Several threads on it, I don't know if anyone ever tried though. The airbag modules should be the same, you wouldn't have to mess with them other than swapping the covers.

why even bother though if you're not going to an aftermarket?

How about:

-Because I want an airbag for my own safety.

-It's illegal to remove or disable them.

-If I'm injured in an accident I can and most likely will be denied insurance coverage if I disabled/removed the airbag. That's a serious concern for me. I believe my last hospital bill was over $70k and that was for just a few broken bones.

-The '03+ wheels look great, I really like the design. Mine is fugly.

On a similar note, I'd also like the '05 stock seats, which are made of a very nice cloth material. Another non-aftermarket upgrade.
