I bought the SharkRacing short shifter and was going to install it this weekend. I was looking at it and with the stock shifter the pivot bolt is snug, but on the short shifter there is alot of play around it. Here's a picture (The red is where to pivot bolt is supposed to go...

...If anyone has this shifter could you let me know if there is supposed to be some play here or if it is supposed to be snug. Thanks

dude, why didn't you get B&M ss....i heard it's just bolt-on, no mods necessary at all...
or R-Side at Kspec.com...you can even adjust height of your shifter...!

Ok, I get this a lot. I bought the SR shifter right after I got the car and hence did not do any research on it. If I could go back in time I would have gotten a different shifter... but I didn't. So I have to deal with it. That's all I'm trying to do. I've already tried to return it to SharkRacing, but they won't answer my e-mails or calls (horrible customer service, and company altogether). I could try to put it on ebay, but I don't think I'll get the full price for it.
Damn I wrote a reply but it's not here. Anyways, easiest and quickest way for you is to just go to your local hardware/plumbing shop and get a pipe that fits snuggly inside that pivot joint, cut it to the desired length. Take your drill to enlarge the pipes internal diameter, make sure you secure the piece before you do this. Put it in a vice but don't over clamp it or you'll crush it.
I could still make one for you if you really want but I'm in Canada. Any local shop with a lathe could do it for you.
