senders for gauges
Ok many moons ago I attempted to install an oil pressure gauge and a water temp gauge in an nissan hardbody, well that went to hell in a hand basket when I discovered that the sender won't fit in the orginal senders place. Well now I have the 99 tiburon and I still have these gauges and I want to install them. What kind of adapters to I need so I can put the senders in their respective places?
What size are the gauges. If they are 2 5/16" or 2 1/4" then you could get a triple gauge pod to install them in. Or custom mount them somewhere else. Like in a vent or something like that.
I think he may be talking about the actuall sensor that sends the signal to the gauge...if its the water gauge...i have one..but haven't felt like draining the prestone to install it but you just swap out the one up by the motor..there are 2 of them next to each other....one is for the ecu and the other is for your stock gauge....can't remeber which is which...but that is the info i found out.

there is no single answer for this because we dont know what you exactly have. just try to fit it in there and if it doesnt work, take a trip to home depot or lows and buy the proper fittings.

I have Recently installed a oil pressure guage from Autometer......I had quite a few trial and error issues getting the tap not to break off in the block ( at the factory oil sensor locaton drectly behind the mainfold on the block ) However I finally purchased a 3' braided line from autometer and it auctually was threaded correctly for our block....I then ran the line to a plce where i could mount the sensor and my stock idiot light switch so i would not get a check engine light. So far I have had it installed that way for about 6 months with no problems.

Can you get the part number of the line you got? I had an incident where my Faze gauge sender busted the fitting off in the block and need to mount it remotely I guess.
I had other fittings break of in my bloc and it was a real pain to get them out of the block.....the part i bought was AutoMeter #4 Braided Steel Line Part number on my receipt is ATM 3227....Sorry I no longer have the packaging ....I know you can by different length lines I only needed 3'.
