I'd purchased a CF reverse indiglo guage off of ebay for a total of 12 bucks and i'd installed it myself, thinking it would be cool to install. About 4 hours finding my way to remove the dash ( first time doing it and it sucks) i'd installed everything by slipping the guages over the needles and had a test drive. The Speedo was screwed up because the darn guages were touching the needle. Had to remove it and to cut the story short, the gas guage dont work now and i dont know what to do? Should i remove the needle and replace it at lil pass full?( since now my tank is full) or move the needle myself manually to full? im not really sure what i should do?.. Any suggestions? Thanks

don't "move" it. take the needle fully off and then set it all the way to the top

or...wait til your gas light comes on. when that comes on, you have about 30 or so miles to go. put the gauge where you would like it to be when your gas light comes on.

welcome to the fold

Aaah, when I took my dash off, the A/C hot/cold knob sticks now. I still don't know why. But it won't go all the way hot.

RD1Tib, welcome to the site mang. I know how hard it is the first time you take it all apart.

My suggestion, leave the plastic clear cover off of your gauge cluster for the next few weeks, make sure none of them stick after working for awhile. I had one needle stick after working for 3 weeks. The trick is to pop off the needle assy with a plastic fork, gently. Then, when you put them back on, just push hard enough to get the needle assy onto the pin. Barely on. I'd do as Shark01Racing said and wait till your gas light goes on, then put the needle on in the red zone. When that light goes on you have about 30 miles left.

89, start your own thread about that, this is about a screwed up fuel gauge.

What you need to check is that you routed the metal cable the correct way, you probably didn't

ok, so to clearify this, the gas light is not connected to the needle itself but connected to some other sensor? You think i done any harm to the needle went i accidentally moved the needle putting the guage on?

Thanks

The Low Gas light is connected to the float in the tank. That's why when your gas is lower and you take a tight turn, you can see it come on.

Your needle should be fine. You just pushed it on too far.

I just bought the same gauges off Ebay and I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the trouble or not. So far I don't hear good things.

There's notiing wrong with the gauge faces.

They work fine.

Just be careful installing it.

The gauges are great. Well worth it. The white face makes your car look good. I just finished removing the clear plastic off the guages and that took like 30 mins( after a couple times removing the dash, you'll get the hang of it) . The parts that took awhile was the removal of the hood popper on the bottom and removing the wires in behind the dash.
Tips on installing:
- Use Double sided tape
- Be careful with your needles
- Have patience with your car, dont go nuts.
