Re: Winter Floor Mats
1.) we need to know EXACTLY what kind of subs you are planning on using.
2.) If you want good sound, dont cheap out on the amp.
3.) What exactly is your idea of "Sounding Good"??? lots of bass?? or a system that reproduces ALL sounds well (clean and crisply) with tight bass??

Re: If ya don't laugh at this you're not human
ok, well if you are building your box.....
and you want lots of bass.....build it on the high side of the subs tolerance (its in the documentation, usually + or - 5% from the recommended volume)
if you want it to be a combo of both boom and accuracy got right smack in the middle of the tolerance.
If you want more quality and are willing to give up a little SPL, go on the low side.
depending on what your subs are RMS rated....you may be able to use the amp(s?) that Void is selling.
I would say just stick w/ the 2 12's, there are mixed reviews on sony mobile products in general.....some say they blow, one of our members here has sony sub(s?) and said that they hit damn hard.
I have a 2000 sony headunit and I love it. I have sony amps (not yet installed) that will be powering JL audio speakers all around.
Its really just a matter of personal taste.
as far as the amp is concerned......we need to know the subs RMS (continuous power handling, not peak). I'm still at work and really dont feel like searching for that info. Just post it and we can help you from there.

Re: If ya don't laugh at this you're not human
Right now I'm running my rockford fosgate 501S 2 channel amp going to my JL audio 12W3v2 bridged down to 2 ohms per channel and it sounds sweet with a 1 cubic ft sealed box. Once I'm done with the upolstery I'll show you some pics on the set up.
But my opinion don't go with sony subs.

Re: Tibby01's LED Stuff
The recommended RMS is 300w - sO i need an amp to power them....Also I don't understand what to do if I want high base or good sound
Also do you know the sizes of the speakers? Front and rear in a 01 Tibby?

Re: GB Requests
ok, heres some examples :
Classical : you want to have tight, accurate bass. Smaller enclosure.
Rap/Rock : you'll probably want more Boom. use a larger box.
Jazz : can go either way.
w/ a smaller box the sub wont be able to produce quite as high of an SPL (Sound pressure Level), but will sound extremely accurate (tight),
with a larger box most subs put out higher SPLs but you'd never be able to win a SQ (sound quality) competition.
For most people the difference is really negligable.......HOWEVER if you spend a lot of time in your car, you would be able to notice the difference between a box on the low side of the subs recommended volume, and one on the high side.
Judging by the types of music you said you listen to, I'd go slightly on the higher side. If you listened to more Rap I'd go a bit further on the high side.
Speaker Sizes :
6 - 3/4" front (some 6-1/2" speakers will fit)
6"x9" for the rears.

Ok thanks man cause the book I'm buildin is pretty damn huge lol its looks kinda looks like a C if you rotate it (tought to explain) I'll get a pic up eventully
Subs are goin on the angled parts and I might get a Sony xs-L101P5 for the middle ( if you have any idea what I'm talkin about lol)
so if you have any more suggestions just post em...thanks all!
ALSO what type of amp should I use like what watt or suggestion with the 300 RMS subs?
