Default rms and watt match up

so the speakers in the front of my car are 75w rms 100w peak polk audio components.

i hooked them up to a 75w max amp tuned it properly and within a month one of them blew.

originally i had them hooked up to 50w max amp pretty much cranked and they did fine just weren't as loud as i would have liked them.

i cant figure out why it blew... someone told me i might have been under powering them but that doesn't make sense considering i was running them on a 50 before.

basically i need new speakers and Im hesitant to match correctly now with the wattage. like i said i have a 4 channel 75 watt amp what should i get for an rms for the fronts.

thanks guys

Have to pay attention to the ohm ratings between the amp and the speakers.
