I'm thinking of putting bucket seats in the rear of my RD2, but have yet to do any measurements regarding this (probably this w-e) to check if it's physically possible without too much problem.

I *think* I remember someone who did that here (or someone who mentionned he's seen it or whatever) but I cannot find the thread.

Any info on this?

interesting idea.. and not a new one.. even from a car makers point of view. Personally, I always thought that the rear seats from the old dodge Daytona were cool. Those were a "bucket" for each side, but the bottom was still one piece.

From 1975.. the Lancia Beta Coupe Had individual buckets in the back:

Yup, it would be pretty nice. The *only* problem is the space available. The floor is pretty high back there, with the gaz tank under it, so there's not much to do if the seat doesn't fit as is...

Well, I'll take some measurements and test fit a stock seat to see if it' possible.

Well, I wouldn't change the back seat, but I had my stock seats covered in vinyl 2 years ago (or was it 3?)... they're black and blue vinyl, actually pretty nice. My dash is blue too.

(this pic dates back when the car was Tropic Green, but the seats are the same and still looks brand new)

But I'm getting tired of the blue interior wink1.gif I'm thinking of going back to a more "sober" interior, so I'd need to get rid of the blue dash and seats. I couldn't put just black seats in the front and leave the back seat black and blue :?

So... either I find a stock leather back seat and install that, IF the material is almost identical to the front leather seats I want to get. Or I get 4 leather seats and try to install that. Or get rid of the back seat completely, but then I wouldn't know what to put in there smile.gif

I guess the measurements will tell me what options I have. I'm not so sure it'll fit though... well, we'll see.

That would be a good idea, but good drive indeed wink1.gif I'll try to check how much shipping would be to see if it would be a good option.
