There is an ugly gap between the RD2 shifter surround and the RD1 Stereo surround. Can this be cured by swapping the stereo surround to an RD2s?

I'm trying to figure out how to make this look organic. Any suggestions? Eventually, I'll complete a full RD1->RD2 Swap.

if you do shifter surround you need to do radio surround

if you do radio surround you need to do big dash piece

if you do big dash piece you need to do complete wiring harness/HVAC (for all switches, HVAC, etc)

catch my drift....


If you are looking for a permanent fix for that gap maybe some fiberglassing (but if are getting RD2 parts soon just live with the gap, imo). wink1.gif

Just paint the stereo surround (or the whole dash) silver to match the shifter surround & the gap won't be as noticeable... Like what this guy did...

 

Nice idea, but I dont want to rely on painting just yet. Perhaps as a last resort.

 

NO matter what you'll have that gap. No way around it.

I'm in the process right now of doing something to help out though. I'm thinking some sort of gauge pod or something to cover the difference.
