If anyone has done this swap before, could you offer the best approach to swap interiors? Any steps? Problem areas? Advice?
I can't find any RD2 Tibs in any junkyards around where I live to source the dash from, so that might be a problem.
Also, take a look at this GK Korean spec OEM Multigauges. Any chance this will fit in the Tib?
Thanks in advance.

Search some, it's been covered a bit. Blacktibs is the only one I've known to have finished the project.
As for the multiguages, they are single din I belive, so yes, it'll fit, but you'll have to run all the wiring yourself.
If you want a nice multigauge setup, check out the Celot system at www.kspec.com

I know of a place that probably has the dash...
This would include top portion, bottom portion, stereo surround, and shifter...
Pm me whether you have a/t or m/t and how much you are willing to pay...
I dont charge extra on what they charge me... i just rape you on shipping.

I LOVE getting raped on shipping. Pm sent.
Im not sure how much work goes into it, whether its a simple matter of removing the old interior and replacing it with the new? Or whether major modification is needed. If some of you experienced folks can give me an estimate, I can plan accordingly.
Redz, can you elaborate on single din? You think it will fit right below the stock stereo?
Thanks in advance.

...
Elaborate?
Uhm...
Din.
2 Din is 2 standard din sizes taken up.
1 Din is 1 standard din size taken up. 1 Din is the size of a regular CD or DVD player, about 2 inches tall by about 7 inches wide.
Dual or 2 Din is about 2.5 times that.

Ther rd2 dash is nicer of course, but if what zoned is saying is true, then you are probably better off paintin your dash to look like the rd2 (metallic grey top half and drivers door side, while leaving the center console original), or you can go one better and do the center console too.
You can prbbly touch up the buttons on the dash to make em look robotic like the rd2.

i dont know if u guys seen this or not, but here is my picture of my interior.
Yes, what zoned is saying is true. Happened to me thats why.
The wiring in the Rear Defrost / Fog lights is wired different, everytime i would turn on my lights it would start smoking behind the gauges. Totally fried a few wires, so i do not have them hooked up anymore. Otherwise i had no problems with the conversion. It snapped right on.

97tibby, If you kept ur rd1 dash and painted it red, it would look pretty much the same, right? execpt for the circular gear boot, robotic time and guages. Those small touch ups can be done with some extra paint.
