Is the radio surround interchangeable from a 2000 single DIN to a 2001 double DIN?

I know someone who has an 00 Tib with a single DIN casette player, I want to give her my 01 Double DIN CD/Cassette, but she would need a new surround.

Anything else needed to do this? I may just swap her out my surround if hers is in good shape and they are interchangeable.

Anyone got an extra 00-01 double DIN surround they want to sell or donate to a fellow Tib driver on a very limited budget?

Yes, they are interchangeable.

You don't need to do anything unless you are going from a 1 din to a 2 din, if you do that there is a support bracket in the back you have to move.

Move, or just plain remove?

I have the double din surround in good condition. I put in a single din to so it would flow better with my new deck. The surround is straight on the top edges but still in good condition.

Email me at jseltenr@sbcglobal.net if your interested and I can send you some pics

Move it, otherwise your stereo will just be supported by a few screws and will bounce in the back if you have a 1 din.

They really are crap, they aren't as bad on the 1st Gen's, but they still suck. Poor quality, poor fitment, big gaps.
