Question Regarding Airbags
Ok...I want to remove both airbags, the steering wheel beacuse I wanna add a Sparco wheel and the Passenger side because I wanna put PS2 there smile.gif .
So the question is not so much how, instead how will the car react? Meaning will my air bag light stay on and if so is there a way to bypass this? And will I be able to just reinstall it and plug it back in with no ill effects should I later decide to do this?
Thank for the info

First off...just a couple of points I want to make real fast:
1) If you take out your OEM steering wheel and air bag, you take a chance of getting a BIG fine from the police due to it being a federal law that all newer vehicles (not sure on the years) must come equipped with safety restraint devices like air bags.
2) If you get into an accident, your insurance company will not help you because you removed the air bag.
3) Some dealers will void your warranty for taking the air bags out.
4 Why put yourself in danger for one little interior cosmetic change?
Ok..enough with the preaching....as far as your question goes...the air bag will come on because it will think that an air bag has gone off since there isn't one there anymore. I'm not completely positive on Hyundai's, but I know on some cars that when you install a new airbag, you have to re-program the ECU so that it knows a new airbag was put in..hence shutting off the air bag light. If it were me, I would ONLY do this if you were making your car a straight trailer queen. Otherwise if you plan on driving it the car still, then all I can say is good luck man.
If you decide to go through with it, post up a pic. I would be curious though to see how it looks in your car.

Thanks Josh smile.gif .
I really wasn't aware of your first reason, but the others I kinda knew about. I really want to do the PS2 mod mostly, But I would find the air bag light issue annoying. So I'll probably scrap the idea.
Maybe I can wourk out something under the passenger dash...Hmmm.
Thanks again Bro
