A friend of mine has an MA audio 12" subwoofer. The specs call for 1 cu ft of space after the magnet. Does that mean that that is all the bigger it should be? If i make it bigger will it loose its power? or is the bigger the better?
thanks

Probably better answered in ICE..
and I believe that the 1 foot or air beyond the magnet is for optimal sound... but I am not a sound guy, I am a video guy, so I am only guessing.

You want the box to be as close to 1 cu. ft as possible, in this case bigger is not better and also smaller is not better. A speaker cone vibrates on both sides and when the cone sends vibrations in the box they bounce back at the speaker which can, in laymans terms, not let the speaker vibrate to its optimal potential. So bigger is not better, when it comes to boxes.
