I, probably like many of you, have installed aftermarket 4 point/5 point harnesses in the past and have installed them in stock locations thinking they were cooler/safer than the O.E.M. seatbelts. You cannot be more wrong when installing these. I have seen two accidents in my area where peoples collarbones/shoulders are CRUSHED in impacts due to improper install of the shoulder belts. The shoulder belts should technically be installed to a Roll Bar (6 point cage cross bar) or something of that sort. The other thing is they should be 90* with tolerences of -5* and +30* above respectively to the drivers torso. If you do not believe me here is a link. Also check your NHRA safety handbook for those of you who dragrace.

Hopefully this helps some of you out.

PSA About Old News: we already knew but thanks for mentioning it. Every time someone here mentions or shows a racing seat belt harness tied too low in the back, they are greeted with at least a joke from someone else about spinal compression.
