alrite..i have an audiobahn a2200hcq amp....its 1600 X 1 rms...i currently have it run off of 4 gauge wire...i have a 80 amp fuse in line and when i have a set of hard hitting bass i keep blowing the fuse...could it be possible that the 4 gauge isn't heavy enough and should move to 0 gauge?? or is it something else

1. Is the amp stable at 1 ohm?
2. what else do you have running off that 80 amp fuse?
3. How many caps do you have inline with the power cable?

Normally for each 1000 watts you have at least a 1 farad cap.

yes its run at 1 ohm and the amp is 1 ohm stable
its the only thing running off of the power cable
i dont have any caps yet but that shouldn't be the prob my amp isn't even full gain yet
i guess i'll just try some 0 gauge and see it that helps

make sure that + and - wires arent touching. wouldnt having little stray wires touching by the terminals cause the fuse to pop?

I agree with him. Re do all your connections with the proper contacts and set up a fuse block at the back with a seperate fuse also. And hook up a cap to help out with the current drop. That amp will take out your alternator if your not careful. You shouldn't go full gain then your bass will distort.

i was saying that, because maybe its just the extra vibration caused when you turn the bass up that causes something to touch.
