thats what stood out in my mind, i figured you just threw a rd2 boot on there. how did you get that ring on a rd1 boot?

It's from and RD2 boot.
I had a defective one,... it was WAY too short. SO I just took the ring off of it. If you take out your boot, flip it upsidedown, you'll know how it attaches the top ring on there. It's only held on by a little metal ring on the inside.
The RD1 top ring is black and is rubbery. The RD2 is top ring is silver and it's HARD plastic. Matches my dash! I love it. Always wanted it smile.gif Was just too cheap to buy the boot just for that ring. Had thought of painted the top black ring, but it's soft rubber, so it'll rub off for sure.

i also have the racerboy, the fake carbon fiber paint is rubbing off in spots so it just looks black. i got the shark racing short shifter and took off the top portion (the part of the shifter that screws off) now the knob sits soo low that people ask how i can shift at all.
