So this passenger armrest panel....

Can I just sand the texture off of that or is it some sort of laminate coating? I'll be accenting the interior panels with high gloss black soon, but it sure won't look right if that texture is on there, I think.

 

Im not crazy bout one side bein smooth and the other textured either, you can try to sand it, and no its not a coating.
