Why? lol Then I would go at least with the TS-A6982Rs, they are 80W RMS. No idea how good they sound though..

But since a lot of people say the Audiobahns are real nice, they're cheap, and handle a whooping 200 RMS (you could kill someone with that magnet), I don't really see why you would go with the Pioneers, but that's just me.

ok... first off i will let you know i have professionaly been dealing with almost every car audio brand in the market for 6 years now. i install, not sell. so my opinion is better than it could be. if you are looking for a nice stereo system and have somehwat of a budget invest your money in your front speakers, not your rear speakers. you will almost not hear your rears to want to put money into them. all you want is to fill the sound out in the rear with some mid quality speakers. your fronts are where the sound is at. invest in some component speakers and AMPLIFY them. you will get much clearer and bassier sound from your speakers if you amplify them. at high volumes when speakers are runnign off deck power (under powered) they distort and sound (in my terms) "poopy" tongue.gif

depending on your 4 chnl amp you have running your subs i would swith it to run your speakers and buy a mono block amplifier for your subs. reason for this is most 4 chnl amps (99.99999%) are class a,b amplifiers which means they draw TONS of power from your alternator and dont put much power out. so if you run 2 4 chnl amps, (one for subs and 1 for speakers) you are pushing your 90 amp alternator to the limits. find a nice class D mono block amplifier to run your subs. you get best boom for the power input.

when you are shopping for amplifiers. look at the RMS wattage not the max output at 14.4 volts. rms wattage is what matters. sony has a HUGE reputation for over rating their products output.

thats my technical advice to give you and now i will give you product advice.

pioneer - DO NOT buy anything pioneer unless its a head unit or their HIGH end product, the rest is garbage.

audiobahn - same thing minus the head unit. its gonna be garbage too.

Alpine -0 awesome headunits, and the rest of the product is pretty good if ur willing to spend a couple extra bucks

jvc - stay away

JL audio - pretty expensive but is phenominal all around product

focal - too expensive and stay away from their 6 1/2 components. the spiders break apart.

sony - stay away.

clarion - much like pioneer. but probably your best bet for a budget system.

rocford fosgate .a.k.a rockyour prostate - never buy their entry level product. they have really went down since 2000.

hope this helped a little bit... any other questions pm me and ill be happy to help

Hey tibbymat, what location do you recommend for installation of the front tweeters in a tib?

i put mine in the factory tweeter locations. but make sure your crossover has an adjustable tweeter output if you are doing this. otherwise you will want to keep the tweeter close to the woofer. as long as the tweeters dont face eachother directly you should be o.k. you can also put them in the little triangles by the wing mirrors. but that will take a custom mounting (maybe some fiberglass work. cuz i dont think there is depth in there for a tweeter.

you should check out these AUDIOPIPE's i'm using they are amazing. their 6" loudspeaker directly mounts in our 6.5" spot. these f***ers are huge but they use neo-dynium magnets so they are super shallow mount and extremely light weight. and i will also tell you that you NEED seperate tweeters mounted on dash/door/a or b pillar where ever but you need something directing sound at you from chest level and above.

if you get your front stage right you can just keep more sub or mid-bass for the rear stage because your ears arent back there so you dont have to worry about clarity so much as in the front.

www.audiopipe.com

i'm currently using Audiopipe APMB-6ND dynamic loudspeakers ( 6"sub") with neo-dynium magnets
they are in the bottom right corner of this picture

how big does the tweeter have to be so it can fit in the factory dash spot?

Optimo, how come the 6" speakers fit in a 6.5" location?
offtopic.gif I'm not sure I have the original mounts anymore, there was a Pioneer speaker in there when I bought the car (and the mounts look modified). A 6.5" Audiobahn fit with some modification (had to "extend" the holes outward), so I'm guessing this 6" wouldn't work for me?
