Ok Speaker Help Please =]
Ok so I blew out my ps rear deck speaker and so I figure it is time to get some aftermarket speakers, as I already have subs
and a nice headunit. So I would like some opinions on what speakers are good for the deck and also some good door
speakers, that YOU all recommend. I would like clarity as well as a little kick haha. And last thing I want to run an interior
amp as well but dont know how to really shop for those, I know my bass speakers are 2 10" subs with a 1000 watt amp the
amp is 4 channels and it is bridged to the 2 speakers, all info and help would really be apprecieated

boston acoustic sl 6.0 pro series
6" mid, 1" tweet, seperate crossovers
yes you will have to make a plate to mount the seperates in your 6x9 slot, but no biggie and very easy to do.
as far as a amp i will be running a jl audio 500.5 at the end of the month. well, i'll be buying it then. fing02.gif
125x2 front stage
25x2 rear stage
250x1 sub channel
i'm pretty sure optimo will chime in on this, he likes things a little louder than i do,lol.

haha I bet he will as well, BUT you said a 6" mid if our deck speakers are 6x9 if I just get the right size I will not have to have crossovers...or what is the point of a crossover?
Separate tweets are good for the front stage - the speakers are too low on the door and you're usually blocking them (you can mount your tweets higher).
But door speakers are 6.5" not 6x9 so i guess you are talking about the rear stage?. I don't see why you would bother with components for the rear stage, the speakers are pretty high up and usually there is nothing to block them. I would just get some coaxial 6x9s for the rear stage.
I currently have coaxials all around (amped) and a sub in the trunk and it sounds pretty good, very loud, but I am looking to switch to components in the front. I love the amped 3-way audiobahn 6x9s in the back, they sound real good.

ok deck=rear stage speakers. So for the 6x9's 3-way speakers are better then 2 way? And I didnt even know that we have
tweeters or a spot for tweeters in our cars? And What kind of component speakers would be good for the door speakers? And
how much power should an interior amp be pushing to amp all 4 interior speakers? MY current HU pushes 40w x 4 just incase
that info is needed.

I don't think 3-way makes a big (any?) difference over 2-way. My rear speakers are the Audiobahn AS69V. They can take 200W RMS each. I am running a JBL GTO 75.4 which is pushing 4x104W RMS.
I never had components, so I won't try to recommend anything - but usually you can't go wrong with good names like Alpine.
Your headunit pushes 40W Max or 40W RMS? I doubt it's RMS, should be less than that. In any case, I would try running without an amp first since installing an amp is not very easy. But choose the speakers so they have enough power in case you want to go with an amp later.
Stock tweeter location is on the top part of the dash, there are two small covers which are almost impossible to take off. I don't know how many tibs actually have tweeters in there (mine doesn't), and I'm not sure if an aftermarket tweeter would fit in there. People usually mount tweeters in other places, like instead of the top round vent on the door, or on the side mirror panels. I'm kinda wondering where I will install mine as well..

I would get either the AS69V or AS69Q for the back (i think redz mentioned he had the AS69V). The ones you chose are only 40W RMS, IMHO too little if you do decide to get an amp later. And like I said, if you want to spend the little extra cash and effort, go with components in the front.
Either way, don't buy from onlinecarstereo. I bought a pair of AS69Vs from there and one of them had like a piece of something that was rattling inside so I return them (had to pay $20 myself for shipping); after a month or two they send me a tracking number for the replacements (even though I asked for my money back, as I got speakers elsewhere since I wasn't gonna be with no sound for months). The tracking number was for an address in a different state. I kept sending messages and calling them. Each time I called I had to wait like 15 minutes on the line before someone answered, then I would tell them my problem, they would say to hold and i'd wait like 10 more minutes and then they said "I will have to call you back" and of course nobody ever did. I got store credit for them after like 4-5 months so yeah. Sorry for the long rant but I would just buy off ebay, it's cheaper and better service since you at least can give them negative feedback.
