Oem Tape Deck Swap For Oem Cd Deck
So my new tib has a tape deck, however my old elantra had a cd deck. Im planning to swap them tommorow, but im wondering if there are any modifications(wireing) needed to complete this. Also, what is the best way to expediate this? I was thinking to take off the lower console where the stick and bag are. Then to take the middle console out. Are there any screws i should no about? Please advise
cool.gif fyi: im not sure if u mean a stock cd player from an elantra or just a regular cd player.
well usually u would buy a wiring kit going from tiburon to sony or panasonic or another brand.
but in your case they will not make a kit to go from elantra to tiburon.
so u will either have to cut the wires and splice um or hope that hyundai used the same insert for both stereo's.
why not buy a aftermarket stereo for 100$ it will sound 5x better stock stereo's come with low wattage
there really is nothing i can say to make it faster as u will see while u try the install.

stock Oem from my elantra. I could buy another cd deck ,but a lil low on cash and its convenient that i already have the cd deck. Does anyone know if the radio's have the same wiring?
For the tiby, you just pull off the shifter surround, pull off the stereo surround, unplug the cig lighter and there are 4 screws holding the unit in place. Remove those 4 screws and go on with your business. As far as the wiring goes, I'm not sure on that. You could call Hyundai and speak to the parts dept, they should know. Otherwise, try it out and see if it works. GL!
