I've only recently looked into this, and want to know more about it. I have a laptop already and like the idea of being able to view real-time stats on my engine.

Is this what I would need? Does anyone know how long the cable would have to be to be able to sit the laptop in the passengers seat and have the cable reach?
does anyone know if we could get a group buy together? anyone else interested?

Do a search on HP.com we listed a cable/software combo for PDA's like a month or 2 ago. Great deal, and with a PDA mount, will look better than a bulky Laptop in your ride.

I just ordered a cable. They are only $34.95 for one. I don't see the point in waiting around for a month or so till you get 10 people, for a $2 savings. I don't know if you saw how cheap they are or not majikTib.

The software can be the kicker.

I'm sure there's OBDII Warez out there.

I thought that website had downloads for the software. I thought it was free for some reason and that all they were selling were the cables (software is no good without the hardware). Let me know how it goes java... I was only hesitant on buying it because I wasn't sure if that's what I needed or not. I only recently discovered these while reading the following thread (possibly the one REDZ was talking about on HP)
http://hyundaiperformance.com/forums/topic.php?t=33970
Now that I read that post, java... what's included in the kit? wouldn't the cable be all you need?

Yeah, I ordered a cable! Doh! I asked them to cancel the order, until I order the whole kit.
