Default Nightshading gauge needles

I got my set of white faced gauges and I wanted to do something custom to the needles. If I nightshaded them, would there still be enough light where they glow when the lights are turned on? The idea is to make them black in the daylight, but then have light shown through.

yes, you could, but you would need something more than stock lighting to do it (White LEDS lighting up the needles..

stock lighting hardly lights the needles as it is, if you did them that dark, hardly anything will come through..

but, it will always show up 'orangish' or w/e color the needle is during the night.. but do you need your needle that bright anyway?

you WILL be able see the needle light up with nightshades but it will be VERY dim.

That sounds like an awesome idea! I should've thought of that when I put my gauges in.
