I am getting ready to get a new system out in my 2000 tiburon and I am not for sure what size the factory speakers are. I am pretty sure they are 5 1/4 in the front and 6/9 in the back. Is this right? Thanks for all your help. I am at work so i didn't have much time to actually search for the answer very much. thanks for your help.

......... but i have to use washers on the screws to hold them into the stock mounting spot because they are still as little too small

Dweet, I just noticed what you said here.If you used washers to space the woofers out away from the window, how are you sealing them? You cannot have space/gap between the woofer and the mounting area(baffle). If so, the back wave of the speaker is allowed to mix with the front wave and this will cause phase shifts. The biggest sign of this problem will be a serious lack of bass.Other signs of phase problems will be images that are 'misplace', along the sound stage.

So the 5 1/4 are going to be way to small? because crutchfield says they will fit the 2000 tiburon

Default FS: G-tech and Pyrometer

wait i just looked up the specs on my speaker and i stand corrected....

Dimensions
Mount Depth: 1-7/8"
Diameter: 5-1/4"
Tweeter Diameter: 1"

5.25" should work with some washers on the screws..

The doors are over sized 6.5" AKA....6.75". Some normal 6.5" will fit without modification.

Yes, listen to MADTIB, they are "6.5" in the fronts.

Why the hell would you want 5.25"?? They don't (as a rule) re-produce mid bass as well as a 6.5 or 6.75".

I think you should do some research and reconsider the options.
