I dug up this old link and will be starting this soon ...
How To
Now I have a couple of Q's first.
1) should the bottom of the 'box' be left metal like that or covered in dynamat or something like that?
2) it only shows 2 layers of fiberglass mat gong on (one on top side and one on the bottom)is that enough or shouldn't it be thicker?
3) How strong is that enclosure going to be ... for example ... if I wanna throw my golf clubs in there am I gonna break anything (besides the subs)?
I'm prolly only gonna do a 2 sub setup using 10" Rockford HX subs that I have already
If it's not really looks I'm concerned with should I just use MDF for the top too ... sound quality wise.
Thanks in advance

1. to be honest i wouldnt use the bottom part of the car. make the sides and make the bottom out of fiberglass. wouldnt cost you much more and that way you can take the box out.
2. should be a little thicker depending on what your using. matt or weave. weave is stronger but harder to deal with. i used about 3-4 layers for mine.
3. if you make it right it should be fine with something on top. if you paint the box then you have to watch out but if its material you'll be good. just make the top stronger if you plan on putting stuff on top.

Awesome .. thanks long.
so if I were doing that then ... how do I secure the wood sides to the fiberglass bottom so it's one piece.

the sheets of fiberglass you put in the bottom need to stretch and touch the wood. you can staple it to the wood or just tape it. make sure th resin gets on it and soakes and hits the wood. when it cures it'll be one with the wood Awesome .. thanks long.

layer the bottom of the trunk with aluminum foil so when you take it out, you can peel it off the back, or u could leave it under there and just keep glassing inside your trunk.. That is from what i have read cuz i need to redo mine too with glass..
