About a week ago I came up with a cool idea to use up more of my LEDs. Put them under the door! I have them mounted in the bottom of the door panel and powered only when the door opens. It really looks great at night, and I can just see it during the day too. I used 9 shaved LEDs under there, spaced 4 inches apart.
Apparently my soldering wasn't so good, I think one broke already...
And I found out about 3 days ago that flyryde is offering the same type of thing! So much for a unique idea... In any case, I have more LEDs, and it looks cooler!

i wonder if using more leds would get rid of the beam effect, is there any way to get it to be continueous light instead of spotlights? or is that just a reflection off the paint??

looks pretty nice now you just need to switch out that red lens for a blue one
Lol darn you beat me to it. I was just searching that topic to see if REDZ still had any. But that would def make it look even better.

Looks good, I've been wanting to mount them on the back of the door so that when the door opens cars behind me notice bright blue LEDs in their face.
Shave the LEDs tip off, you can get them flat and about 100 degree viewing angle rather then 20-30 degree viewing angle.

I left them unshaved, and it was a real "spotlight" effect - looked terrible. So I shaved them down, and now it's about a 120 degree spread on the ground. The only reason you see the reflection is because the ground is really smooth/shiny.
I kinda wanted to change the door panel light, it's an LED bulb, but I really didn't want to spend the money on it. I don't mind the red, it looks better in person.
